Eastern PA Coalition for Abandoned Mine Reclamation Fundraiser
The Eastern PA Coalition for Abandoned Mine Reclamation (aka EPCAMR) had a dinner/fundraiser August 4, 2011. Their mission is to reclaim abandoned mines, restore streams impacted by mine drainage, environmental education, capacity building historic preservation projects, and more. The artists at Verve Vertu created artwork using Anthracite as a dye for silk scarves and a beautiful batik art piece which we submitted for the fundraiser. Both pieces sold. Proceeds from the sales of these items benefit both EPCAMR and the Verve Vertu artists. They have asked us to continue to collaborate with them and we will be creating more artwork using anthracite, which is such a gift from the earth to create with. We thank them for this opportunity!
